Pride and celebration were at the heart of our annual Presentation Evening last week as our 2025 leavers and their families joined staff and guests to recognise hard work and achievement. The event highlighted the dedication, talent and progress of learners across the college, setting an uplifting tone for an evening focused on success, ambition and community. After a welcome by college Director Mr Atkin, the event was handed over to Mrs Brook, the Head of Year 13, for her reflections and memories of our class of 2025. Each student was then invited up to the stage to collect their examination certificates whilst we heard about the qualifications they had gained and the various paths they have chosen to follow. Anticipation then built as it came time to announce the winners of the Subject and College Awards.

Our Subject Award winners
After the Subject Awards, the winners of our five special College Awards were announced:
The Director’s Prize for Academic Excellence is awarded each year to the student with the highest point score from all their qualifications completed whilst at Dereham Sixth Form College. This year’s winner is Milo Milton.
Mrs Cheeseman’s Award for Achievement is awarded to the student with the highest overall value-added score. Value-added is a measure of progress, comparing the grade attained by a student with the grade they were expected to attain. This year’s winner is Wei Jie Chen.
The Richardson Cup for Student Endeavour is awarded to the student who has performed excellently in their A Levels, despite having to cope with circumstances outside of college that were particularly challenging. This year’s winner is Isla Hamilton.
The Lions Club Award for Community Service is awarded to the student who has contributed most to the local community during their time at the college. This student organised many of the college’s charity events, raising hundreds of pounds for various different charities. This year’s winner is Liliana Cott.
The O’Grady Prize for Contribution to Sixth Form Life is awarded to the student who has shown great enthusiasm for getting involved in everything they can in the time they are at DSFC. This year’s winner was our student Senate President, Ellie Nicholson.

Wei Jie Chen, Ellie Nicholson, Liliana Cott and Isla Hamilton. (Milo Milton was unable to attend the event.)
The evening concluded with closing remarks from Mr Atkin, followed by photographs, before guests moved to the Conservatory to enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to catch up and celebrate together. It was a wonderful evening, and we wish all of our students every success in all that they go on to do.
