Christmas is a classic time for celebrities to release their autobiographies. Inspired by this, our Librarian, Rachel Chavez, runs an annual Christmas Competition where students and staff are asked whose life story they would like to find underneath their Christmas tree this year. It can be someone alive or dead, real or fictitious – who would prompt them to open the book, or put on their headphones to listen to the audiobook! Everyone who entered was put into a prize draw to win a festive goodie bag.

There were some really interesting suggestions this year from singer Michael Jackson, Chinese Empress Wu Zeitan, British naval officer and test pilot Captain Eric ‘Winkle’ Brown, American travel writer and librarian Horace Kephart and London/Chicago marathon winner Sifan Hassan (who escaped conflict in Ethiopia) to Henry Winter from The Secret History by Donna Tartt, Chiron from the Percy Jackson series and folklore figure, Krampus!
Congratulations go to Samuel who was randomly selected as the winner.
