Yesterday, a group of Year 12 students attended the Allied Health Professionals Taster Day at Norwich Research Park run by the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), organised in conjunction with the University of East Anglia (UEA) and Norfolk Higher Aspirations. This year our young people took part again in a series of interactive workshops held by different professions including Paramedicine, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Operating Department Practice, Orthoptics, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiography and Speech and Language Therapy. They had the opportunity to meet some of the clinical teams and staff from the UEA to find out more about training and opportunities.
Take a look at our photos from the day below (clock on any to enlarge them).
Paramedicine workshop:
Occupational Therapy workshop: building Lego with one hand, missing fingers, wearing gloves
Physiotherapy workshop: walking with crutches and assessing breathing differences
Operating Department Practice workshop: gloved up, gowned on, assisting in a mock operation
Orthoptics workshop: playing ball with glasses that restricted eyesight in different ways
